In one of the biggest seizures in Nagaland in recent times by the Assam Rifles (AR), troops of 31 AR recovered 750 cases IMFL in Tuli worth around Rs. 17,75,280/- (in open market) and 19 persons were apprehended along with 12 vehicles Tuesday.
In a press release, AR said the liquor was being transported in a convoy of 12 Vehicles consisting of six Bolero’s, three Scorpio and three Gypsys in broad daylight.
“Incidentally fake number plates were also recovered in one of the vehicle which indicates the possibility of continuous use and various deception measures being used by the culprits” AR stated.
Meanwhile, GBs, NGOs and the public expressed gratitude to the 31 AR for taking adequate steps to ensure the law of land and prevent inflow of liquor into Nagaland.According to sources, the vehicles were a part of the convoy of a public leader.
