
Horticulture department held inaugural programmes of marketing shed, one each at Akumen and Lirmen villages and a village gate at Tsurmen village on October 7.
Director of Horticulture Watienla Jamir inaugurated the sheds and the gate in the presence of departmental officers from all the 11 districts.
At the inaugural programme, Watienla Jamir expressed gratitude on behalf of the parliamentary secretary of horticulture and the department.
She also requested the villagers to consider parliamentary secretary as a blessing in disguise who have wholeheartedly agreed to allot the construction works though there was objection from various quarters.
Later on the same day, Watienla Jamir also inaugurated the village gate of Tsurmen Village in the presence of her staffs, village council members of Akumen, Tsurmen, Lirmen and VDBs of the three villages.
In her short speech, she appreciated for completing the construction works in such a short span of time.
She was also of the view that the entire areas has lot of potentials but need to improve the road connectivity and further advised the farmers to cultivate crops as per the demand in the market.
