Kohima College bids farewell to Principal

A grand farewell programme was organized by Kohima college teachers association for the outgoing principal C. Khalong Ao on Friday at the college auditorium.

Zetso Sakhrie, vice-principal, Kohima College said, “Today is a celebration rather than farewell” and described the outgoing principal C. Khalong as a “dynamic, wise, motivator, transitional principal, and a workaholic”.

She also said, C. Khalong was a realistic reflection of the college who had transformed the college into a respected institute.

“The college was accreditated under ‘B Grade’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Committee (NAAC), and it is all because of his dynamic leadership and perceptive towards the college”, she added.

C. Khalong Ao in his farewell speech said, “We live life only once, so let us love one another, let us work for the cause of humanity and let’s give our best to our society, to our people and to our country”.

Having worked as the principal for the past 6 years and 3 months, he thanked all the teachers, non-teaching staff, past and present students for the chance to grow with them and for them.

“For every ending there is a good beginning, for every memory there was a dream ahead. My dream ahead for Kohima College is that, every one of you will grow from excellent to further excellent”, he added.

He also appreciated the college stakeholders, minister for higher education, Dr. Shürhozelie for giving support during his stay at the college.

The programme was graced by several dignitaries including Kheming Shiu, Khriehutuo Sekhose, Tsievilie Miachieo among others.

Meanwhile, Kohima College has informed all its students that there will be no classes on October 8.
