Special branch conducts surprise raid on restaurants

 In a surprise raid to check  illegal sale of liquor in and around Dimapur, Special branch Dimapur Friday raided four restaurants and lounges and seized 257 canned beer and 99 bottles of different brands of whisky and rum.

In  this connection, personnel of special branch arrested four persons.
Later, the seized items along with the arrested persons were handed over to excise department.

According to Deputy SP special branch Israel G. Xuivi, the raid was carried out by the operation team after receiving verbal complaints from the citizens. He said the team would continue to conduct such raid from time to time.
