Students of JNV Tuensang can now avail the opportunity to study at the permanent campus after it was formally inaugurated by S. Tsali, pastor, Chare New Town Baptist Church on Monday.
Principal, JNV Tuensang, P. Bhaskar Kumar, while welcoming the gathering thanked the villagers in particular and people of Tuensang in general for their support since setting up of JNV at Tuensang district.
The school campus was dedicated by S. Tsali, Pastor, Chare New Town Baptist Church, while exhortations were delivered by Rangli, Council Chairman Tsaru village, and Tsikingse, Chairman, JNV site land-donors.
Other highlights of the programme included welcome song by students, special number by BYE members Chare Town followed by banquet for all the invitees.
The programme was attended by Gaonburas (GBs) and Dobashis (DBs) of Chare, Assam Rifles dignitaries, branch manager, SBI Chare Branch, church members, villagers and parents.
It may be mentioned that JNV Tuensang was set up in 1994 and had been operating in temporary arrangements in renovated run-down buildings while construction of the school campus at the permanent site started only in 2002.
The newly inaugurated school campus is spread over 30 acres in Chare New Town on land donated by the villagers of Chare.
It has 24 classrooms, physics, chemistry, biology and computer labs, smart classroom, separate dormitories for boys and girls with capacity of 45 and 96 students respectively at present along with mess hall, guest house, and quarters for teachers and staff.
