NNC president Adinno Phizo while extending greetings for Christmas and New Year, 2013 Friday said that the hype on government of India’s decision to resort to “arbitrary sham peace process” purported to reach a solution at the earliest possible time with “non-state outfits” was nothing short of “an insult” to the intelligence of the people of Nagaland.
In a statement, Adino said that in over sixty years of conflict with India, the elusive peace could merely be seen a thriving industry serving vested interests in Nagaland.
She added that peace could not “be imposed” and nothing could derail NNC and FGN’s stand on Nagaland. She said that the prevailing “anarchic distraction orchestrated by Delhi” could not hide the government of India’s “blatant hypocrisy” and “gross interference” in the internal affairs of Nagaland.
Adino said that since the “unprovoked invasion” in November 1954 to deny the existence of Nagaland, Nagas have against all the odds defied the “enemy’s evil designs.” She appealed the Nagas to respect “age-old traditional harmony and uphold the Yehzabo (constitution) of Nagaland.”
