State BJP appeals for fair election

The state BJP on Monday pledged its firm stand to ensure a free and fair democratic election and appealed to the general public, particularly genuine voters, to exercise their democratic franchise ‘diligently and fearlessly as bonafide citizens’ and not to be ‘subdued by any foul and undesirable coercion.’

State BJP president, Dr, M. Chuba Ao voiced apprehension that the upcoming state assembly election would be a repeat of the past, and has appealed to all to refrain from unfair electioneering means such as use of “illegal arms, money power, alcohol and drugs”.

In this regard, the party has requested the administration to strictly ensure that no foul play hampers the holding of a free and fair election.

Meanwhile, the State BJP Unit has constituted various committees i.e. election committee; drafting of election manifesto committee; election legal affairs committee; protocol, accommodation; transport and security in-charge; campaign committee; material in charge and publicity committee, office coordinators till election.
