Pongkong Village Council (PVC) at a meeting held on December 30 resolved to ban fishing with chemicals and invertors, hunting of animals during the breeding season, burning of jungle, cutting logs and bamboo and cane operations under its jurisdiction.
Anybody found violating the order would be fined heavily as per the customary law, said the council, adding the ban would remain in force from April 1 to March 31, 2017.
