Upper Jail Colony Panchayat (JCP), Kohima in a notification has informed that all public meetings must be conducted with prior information and in consultation with the panchayat.
JCP maintained that the existing resolution of closing all shops and business establishments by 8 p.m must be adhered to and said action would be taken against shops and house owners if found violating the order.
JCP chairman, Vikhozo Vitsu has requested political parties not to supply liquor to the public and also appealed to all the residents to maintain peace and tranquility in the colony to promote free and fair elections.
