Purple Fusion band enthralls audience
Purple Fusion Band entertained the gathering during the entertainment period at Secretariat Plaza with their song “Medley; Tring Tring Marks of War, Swades, Vande Mataram”. The band members included Lamtsala Sangtam as the main vocalist, Rhonbemo Ezung as the guitarist, Temsu Kichu as drummer and Mhathung Odyuo on the bass.
Flexi banner competition
A flexi banner competition was held at Secretariat Plaza. Governor of Nagaland Nikhil Kumar inaugurated the exhibitions. He was accompanied by chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, chief secretary Alemtemshi, DGP Besusayo Kezo, DGP Prison L. Thechamo Lotha and other bureaucrats and officials.
The department of land resources was adjudged first, while the second and third positions were bagged by Horticulture and fishery departments. The winning departments were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 15,000, 10,000 and 5,000 respectively. Altogether, 40 government departments took part in the competition. The visitors were entertained by live music presented by Ebenezer band.
Best contingents prize distribution
Chief Secretary of Nagaland, Alemtemshi Jamir, IAS gracing the evening programme as chief guest at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza, Kohima distributed prizes for the best contingents of the Republic Day parade. The Armed Parade Contingents prizes were won by 19th Assam Rifles in the first position, 164th Naga Territorial Army and 78th BN CRPF placed in the second position respectively.
In the Unarmed Parade Contingents category Sainik School, Punglwa was placed in the first position, 1st Naga Girls BN NCC and Village Guard won the second position. The chief guest gave away the cash prizes to the winner contingents.
The Band displays were by PTS Brass Band of Nagaland Police, Pipe Band 19th Assam Rifles, 20th Assam Rifles Pipe Band, 9th Jat Pipe Band and 11th Assam Rifles Pipe Band. High ranking government officials and public witnessed the evening Republic Day programme.
