Nehru Yuva Kendra Sagathan, Nagaland, organized a three-day state level Yuva Kriti & Folk Cultural Festival 2013 from January 28 to 30 at Bamboo Hall, Kisama, which was inaugurated by Kumari L. Tilotama, vice-chairperson, board of governor, NYKS, ministry of youth affairs and sports (GOI).
Addressing the youth participants from all districts of Nagaland who were around 150 on the inaugural day, the chief guest stated that Indian youth constitute nearly 70% of India’s population and that the government of India was giving immense importance to youth related programmes.
She also called upon the youth to avail opportunities and strengthen the national building process at the same time added that globalization was fast taking place, for which she urged the youth to be part of it or else they would find themselves missing out.
She also called upon the youth to make the best use of locally available raw materials and to bring development to one’s villages.
Stating that the northeastern region was quite different from mainland, she assured to extend help in skill development project in Nagaland and asked officials to submit project report to her while also calling upon the youth to work for peace, harmony and national integration.
Delivering the key note address, K.I. Singh, zonal director, highlighted the vision and mission of Yuva Kriti & Folk Cultural Festival 2013, and stated that the programme was targeted to provide large audience to the youth where new vistas of opportunities could be unfurled for further improvement in growth and development.
Guest of honour, Ibungochubi, exhorted the youth by stating that great responsibilities lies with the youth to understand one’s culture and further called upon the youth to build a lifelong friendship.
Keneilezono Chale presented a special number during the programme.
Later, the chief guest gave away state level “Best Youth Club Awards 2012”to Khuzama Youth Organization carrying a cash award of Rs. 25.000 with a citation and declared the Yuva Kriti opened.
