Folk tale film in Nagamese released

With the aim to preserve Naga folk tale, a Nagamese film ‘Morom Na Thaka amah’ (mother without love) was released Thursday at Orchid Hotel Kohima.

The film directed by M. Ngoni  of Laii village was release by A. Adani Mao E.A. AIR station Kohima as chief guest.

Speaking at the function, the chief guest congratulated the team for successfully releasing the folk tale film and encouraged them to pass the message of good culture.

General secretary Poumai Public Union Kohima, P.H. Shesou in his address as guest of honour appreciated the initiative and hard work for preservation of Naga culture and living style.

He encouraged the team to work more on Naga folk tale (true story) even in future.

He also encouraged at the gathering to uphold the invaluable qualities of their forefathers, adding film artistes and the team should set exemplary life in the public eyes.

He said this folk tale film would serve a good purpose for Nagas as whole by learning something good from it.

He also stressed the need of preserving the good culture and folk tale with moral to pass down to the future generations. He said the good culture inherit from ancestors can even unite people of different communities.

The film director M. Ngoni in his introductory speech said to make a folk tale film of Naga was his long cherished dream and finally it was released.

He said Nagas have lots to do in the field of film and folk tale story to get recognized at the higher level.

He expressed gratitude to all those who have supported and encouraged in the course of making the film and sought the viewers’  suggestion, comments and correction if any for improvement in the next film.

The programme was compeered by B.K. Sonia and L. Nizüne, invocation prayer by H. Sosü deacon PBCK, welcome address by Th. Daihrü Ruh, special songs by Dinah & co. and Kahsa film singer and vote of thanks by Ng. Pfoni chairman Laii union Kohima.

Around hundred people attended the function including Markson president NPO, president PPUK, church and public leaders, president Nagaland designer association, students’ leaders, and well wishers.
 
It may be mentioned that the film is based on a true story in a Naga village where a step-daughter was ill-treated by her step-mother which led to family problem.
