Deputy commissioner & returning officerN. Hushili Sema has directed all second and third polling personnel to attend training on February 9 and 13 at 9am at Dimapur Government College. Necessary disciplinary action shall be initiated against the absentee as per section 134 of PR act 1951.

Meanwhile, Prasanta Bhattacharyya, IAS general observer for 1 Dimapur – I, 2 Dimapur – II, 3 Dimapur III A/C will hold public interviews at Circuit house Dimapur room no. 201 from 3 pm to 5 pm every day.

Kohima: Training of all election agents of candidates in Kohima District under election expenditure monitoring cell would be held at the DC’s Conference Hall on February 11. SDO (C) & Nodal officer, EEMC, Lithrongla Tongpi will chair the programme while DC & DEO, Kohima W. Honje Konyak will give the introductory briefing.

Highlights on EEMC will be given by member, NBRM Krulalie Tsurho and Purpose of EEMC will be explained by EO, Kohima district Anand Kumar. Broad outlines of maintaining accounts & register of candidates would be presented by master trainer EEMC, Er. Yapangnungla Moa. DC & DEO, Kohima has informed all to attend the training.

Mon: In connection with ensuing election, deputy commissioner & returning officer, Mon Angau I Thou has conveyed a co-ordination meeting of all HoDS/nodal officials of Mon district on February 11,11a.m at DC’s conference hall, Mon.

All HoDs/nodal officials have been directed to attend the meeting along with list of respective employees for reference. DC further directed all government officials shortlisted/drafted as presiding officers/polling personnel-I/polling personnel-II/polling personnel-III to perform their respective duties sincerely, failing which stern action would be initiated against them.

Further, contesting candidates under Mon district have been informed to attend meeting at DC’s conference hall, Mon on February 9 at 4 p.m.The 2nd Phase of training for all officials including Grade-IV employees has been scheduled on February 15, 9.a.m at GHSS, Mon.

Further presiding officers & polling personnel-I who missed the first phase of training have been informed to attend one day training on February 9 at council hall, Mon town.

Zunheboto: Deputy commissioner & returning officer Zunheboto Govind Jaiswal has directed static surveillance team and flying squad team to verify brand new motor vehicles- two wheelers/four wheelers procured by intending candidates from and within and neighboring states automobile dealers.

DC stated that such vehicles reportedly does not have high security registration plates (HSRP) indicating that the registration number plate could be fake.

In this connection DC has directed the team to verify the details of such vehicles and to take necessary action by verifying the source of procurement in bulk and identify the person making payments and requisition of such vehicles. DC informed that Election Observer for Zunheboto District, D.K. Chaturvedi has arrived at Zunheboto district.

In this connection, the DC has informed that anyone who wants to meet him can come at the DC Zunheboto Office Chamber between 3 pm to 6 pm or can contact the Observer in this no. 9436275010.

Wokha: Deputy commissioner Wokha, Vyasan R. has issued notification that people in groups would not be allowed to move after 6p.m.

The notification was issued after some people were seen moving around in groups after 6 p.m resulting in several incidents disturbing peace and tranquility in the district and posing serious threat to life and property of the people.

The notification stated that collective movement of people would be banned from the date of issue of this order. Any person/group of persons violating the order shall be punished according to the relevant section of the law and vehicularand human procession would be banned after 6p.m.

DC further directed all polling officers who could not attend the 1st Phase of training held earlier, to attend on February 13 at Mt. Tiyi College Wokha at 10 a.m. The notification further stated that failing to attend the said training shall attract appropriate action under Section 134 of the Representation of People Act 1951.

Mokokchung: Deputy commissioner & returning officer Mokokchung, Murohu Chotso has convened a meeting with assistant returning officer, administrative officers, sector officers, and sector commanders on February 11, 1p.m in the conference hall of deputy commissioner.

Kiphire: DC Kiphire, district election officer & RO Kesonyu Yhome informed that election observers have been appointed by the ECI for 59 & 60 A/Cs under Kiphire district. Observers are: general Observer- C S Napalchyal, IAS – 9612925699, Police Observer- A K Singh IPS – 9862143867 and Expenditure Observer- RaviKant Gupta, IRS – 09466160111.  Public/candidates/political parties under 59 & 60 A/Cs have been informed to seek any query/clarification from the observers.
