10 NE students attacked in Delhi

Two students from Northeast hailing from Manipur sustained serious injuries when miscreants attacked them along with eight others in Delhi while returning after dropping one of their friends in Delhi University. One of them was reported to be in a serious condition and has been admitted in the ICU of a hospital there.

According to NE Helpline, Delhi, the ten students were attacked from behind by a group of eight to nine unidentified persons on February 24 night. The miscreants fled the spot after attacking them with sticks.

NE Helpline said Maurice Nagar Police Station in DU area still has not registered a case despite the students trying to file an FIR.

It has asked the authority to register a case against the attackers as per the instruction given by Union Home Ministry in 2012 for booking “racial attackers” under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
