Amidst high tension in Wokha district with pre-poll and post-poll violence, troops of Assam Rifles (AR) based in Wokha and NSCN (I-M) cadres was engaged in a gun-fight Wednesday evening reportedly in Mekokla area, Wokha district.
According highly placed sources, one person was reportedly killed in the gun-fight. The reason behind the encounter was not known till the time of filing this report. It could not be ascertained as to whether the casualty was from the NSCN (I-M) or the Assam Rifles.
