BJP refutes report

BJP state unit has refuted news report of its demand for the removal of Dr. M. Chuba Ao from the post of state unit president.

In a statement, BJP state unit convener, legal affairs and human rights Hayithung Bill Lotha and president BJP minority morcha, state unit Vethisa Lohe “disowned” the statement of “disgruntled” party members who has allegedly demanded that Dr. M. Chuba Ao step down following BJP’s dismal performance in the recently concluded state assembly elections.

Stating that the statement did not reflect the collective official state party line, the two also said state organizational matter would be collectively discussed along with the district units.

The statement further added that the DAN got an overwhelming “mandate” and BJP state unit stood “firmly united.”
