M/S Mamani Enterprises has clarified the news item on MES recruitment published in a local daily on March 2. Proprietor of the enterprises, Mahadeo Rao, who also appeared the exam bearing roll number 209 said he was not selected.
Meanwhile, refuting the news item which commander, Works Engineers, Colonel Jasdeep Singh, in a press statement said that the allegation of malpractices in MES recruitment was “fabricated” and not authentic.
He also said that the recruitment was carried out on all India basis and were not limited to Nagaland state only at the same time added that it was conducted strictly based on merit and in totally impartial manner and as per procedures, guidelines and recruitment rules issued by DoPT and Ministry of Defence and Standing Operation Procedure issued by Engineer-in-Chiefs’ branch of Army Headquarters, where there was no violation of recruitment rule at any point of time.
Stating that the allegations leveled against the firm were false, misleading and far from the facts, Colonel Jasdeep Singh also said that complainants have alleged without any evidence against the responsible officials which was “derogatory, humiliating” to tarnish the image of the officials.
Terming that the facts about the number of vacancies, the change of date of exam and percentage of selection of Naga candidates as reported in a local daily were “absolutely false”, Colonel Jasdeep said the news item was an outcome of frustration of the candidates who have not made to the merit list at the same time affirmed that no favour of any kind was shown to any candidate.
