All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Kohima unit has condemned the continued harassment meted out on taxi drivers and stealing of taxis by unknown miscreants.
ANTA Kohima unit president, R. Robert Kire, in a press statement said it was saddened that a zonal taxi (NL01T 8073) along with the driver identified as Saddam was taken away by three unknown persons who took the vehicle on hire from Dimapur to Kohima on March 18.
However, neither the taxi nor the driver reached Kohima till date and the whereabouts and conditions of the driver and taxi was not known, added ANTA Kohima unit.
ANTA Kohima unit stated that an FIR in this connection was lodged under Kohima North Police Station and manhunt in progress.
The unit said they were anguished that despite the best efforts to provide better services to the general public, some unscrupulous miscreants indulge in such practices, at the same time, appealed to the public, police, district administration and the Naga nationalist workers to help ANTA in tracing the innocent driver as well as the taxi.
