Project Wokha town infrastructure in full swing

As a boon to the citizens of Wokha town, a project under the name ‘Wokha town infrastructure’ from the ministry of urban development, government of India with an amount of Rs. 29 crores is currently being utilized.

Benathung Odyuo, a government registered, 1st class contractor who was a town council member of wokha town council for the last two terms, had been seeking the project from the centre since the last few years to develop Wokha town. It is also first of its kind in the district.

Team Metamorphosis in a press release stated that out of the total sanction of Rs. 29 crores, only 2.70 crores have been released since March 2012.

As a primary step towards full scale development, retaining wall alongside approach roads within the town have been built thus preventing further landslides, protecting houses and buildings, strengthening bridges and culverts, widening approach roads as a result of erecting proper retaining walls and even aesthetically beautifying the town.

Team Metamorphosis acknowledged Ben Odyuo for bringing such project from the centre and state urban department and ministry of urban development at the centre for granting the project to Wokha district. 

Meanwhile, Team Metamorphosis has urged the state government to issue utilization certificate to the contractor, keeping in mind that the kind of works that was in progress also needed conducive weather and must be done before monsoon.

Team Metamorphosis also informed that the much talked about ‘Hospital Road bridge’ at Wokha town would be covered under the project and in this regard, the Team has urged land owners to allow the works to be carried out as it was for the benefit of the whole community.
