Five companies from 10 NAP (IR) and another five companies from 9 NAP (IR) left for Karnataka Wednesday night for the ensuing assembly election duty there. Elections to the 224-member Karnataka Assembly would be held on May 5 and the counting of votes will be taken up on May 8.
According to sources, the IR personnel were deputed as per the directives of the union ministry of home affairs.
While 9 IR is led by its commandant Aotemsu as commander, 10 IR is led by two deputy commandants – Nikho and Talisunup Imchen.
