Refreshers course for village council, village development board, GBs and women members of Mon district under BRGF capacity building and training was conducted on April 11 at Mon council hall.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Kuko Mero, ADC, Mon. He emphasized on the importance of training programmes and advised participants to make use of the opportunity to learn more about the policy and programme and the guideline of the ministry of RD and PR, GoI, for successful implementation of the programme as intended.
Earlier, Nyangpong (NCS), project director, DRDA, welcomed the ADC, participants as well as the course coordinator and said that from this year, more such trainings should be conducted at the block level.
The programme was chaired by Temjen Longchar, PO, DRDA, Mon, and vote of thanks was proposed by Tingyeih Konyak, APO, DRDA, Mon. The course was coordinated by Dr. W. Phola Konyak and resource persons were drawn from DRDA and blocks.
The main topics covered in the programme were change of attitude and mindsets, village administration and functioning of village council, duty and responsibility of village development board members and VDB secretaries, the flagships programmes of the ministry of RD and Panchayati Raj, planning and implementation of NRLM and participatory decentralized planning for village development.
The programme was successfully conducted with the help and support from DRDA, blocks and district level trainers of training (ToT). It may be mentioned that the same course would continue block-wise in due course of time.
