Youth should not be hurdled by procrastination: Meren

Youth resource & sports minister Merentoshi R. Jamir Monday said though the state’s youth had been neglected for a long time, his ministry was determined to uplift their conditions of with the cooperation of the people. The minister further asserted that the “new generation” should not be hurdled by “procrastination”. Merentoshi was speaking at Mokokchung village as part of his first constituency tour after being elected to the state assembly.

The minister began his tour from Mokokchung village covering Tsusapang, DEF, Chuchuyimpang village and culminating with consultative meetings with Ao Senden and Ongpangkong Mungdang in the evening.

During his speech, Merentoshi also said that by allocating a ministerial berth to one of the youngest elected legislator, DAN III was fulfilling one of its objectives enshrined in the NPF manifesto. He also thanked state chief minister Neiphio Rio and NPF president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu “for believing in the abilities of the youth.” The minister was accompanied by the party officials, led by NPF central leader Aolepden, NPF division president Imtiyanger and constituency party members.
