Rally on total sanitation campaign was organized on April 18 and April 20 at Satakha town and Suruhuto town respectively.
In Satakha, the campaign rally on water and sanitation was organized by Satakha Range Students’ Union (SRSU) under the aegis of WSSO, PHED, Kohima, with principal, Highland Higher Secondary School, Satakha, Dr. Hokishe Yeptho, as the chief guest who spoke on safety environment.
SDO, PHED, Zunheboto division, Er. Vinili, presented a speech on communitization, its targets and the steps to be initiated in future.
Speech on sanitation, negative impacts of unhygienic condition and its measures, importance of cleanliness and the ways to keep the villages/towns and its surrounding clean was delivered by Kiyeshe Chishi, IEC consultant, Zunheboto division, prevailing water quality ill effects of water borne diseases and its preventive measures was presented by Benathung Tsopoe, while JE, PHED, Zunheboto, Er. V. Mughalu, presented a speech on departmental activities, its targets and the works undertaken by the department at district level.
The programme which was chaired by Brica Zhimo, women coordinator (SRSU), started with an invocation by youth pastor, STBC, Ghoihe, introduction was done by SRSU president, Ninoto K. Awomi, while vote of thanks was delivered by SRSU general secretary, Khetoi Zhimo.
The same progarmme was also conducted on April 20 at Suruhuto town, organized by Suruhoto Town Students’ Union (STSU).
Chairman, Adhoc Town Council, Suruhuto, Shivikhu Shikhu, who was the special at the programme also spoke on the safety of environment.
SDO, PHED, Zunheboto division, Er. G. Mughalu, presented a speech on communitization, its targets and the steps to be initiated in future.
The rally was chaired by Tokavi Shikhu, GT, GHS, Suruhuto, pastor, STBC, invoked God’s blessing while president, STSU, Kiyevi, did the introduction. Vote of thanks was proposed by Kalino Achumi which was followed by a cleanliness drive.
