Along with the rest of world, Old Town Zunheboto observed Mother’s Day under the aegis of Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto, department of Women Ministry, with “Mother’s of whole creation” (Gensis 3:20) as the theme.
Proprietor, Step By Step School and vice chairman District Sports Council Zunheboto (DSCZ), Zhekugha Assumi, exhorted the congregation as the speaker.
He highlighted the significance and meaning of the word ‘mother/motherhood’ citing examples of various women from the Holy Bible and by comparing them to the women in this contemporary world/society.
Assumi, further encouraged the women folk saying the Almighty has blessed and endowed each women the wisdom and strength to be a mother, wife and a teacher (child’s/infant’s first mentor).
He also cited the role of mothers/women since time immemorial to the present juncture. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Kiyeshe Deacon and Bokivi Swu recorded the proceedings.
Old Zunheboto Town, praise and worship team led the opening of the 3-hour-long Mother’s Day dedication with Hovishe Arkha, president, Sumi Hoho invoking God’s blessing and presence.
Old Zunheboto Town Sunday School children presented a song; the most mesmerizing moment of the service was presentation of “Mother’s Day Synopsis” and “Mother’s Love”, by two students.
The other highlights of the programme included pecial number by ex-deacon Niheto’s group, prayers and gifts sponsored by Mr. & Mrs. Vikheshe Assumi, which was handed over by deacon convenor, Pihoto, recitation of “Mother’s Love”, in Hindi, scripture reading by Ghonito Kiba and a note of gratitude/appreciation by Shiluho Chophy. The service ended with a benediction by Yehoto Aye.
