CAS for PACS conducted

Dry run of Software on Common Accounting System (CAS) for Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) and training programme was conducted on May 13 at head office, Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NSCB). 
The programme was one of the benchmark activities in the implementation of revival package under Short Term Cooperative Credit Structure (STCCS) in the state as per the MoU inked by Government of India, NABARD and Government of Nagaland in the year 2008.  
B.P Chetri, commissioner secretary, cooperation and fisheries graced the inaugural function as chief guest, while Imkonlemba Longkumer, registrar, Cooperative Societies, Nagaland, was the guest of hounor. B.K Thandani, managing director of the bank, chaired the meeting and welcomed the delegates.
Chetri lauded the combined efforts of all concerned for implementation of STCCS in the state and later discussed hurdles faced in the implementation process. He said that amendment to cooperative Acts and Rules, which was earlier made, would be placed for further amendment as per the direction of NABARD.
T. Imkonglemla Longkumer, while informing on the background of STCCS in the state and the status of MoU stated that further amendment of cooperative societies Acts and Rues would be carried out without delay. 
Thadani also informed on the bench mark activities under STCCS and the problem faced by the state and the bank in the implementation process.  
He informed that implementation of CAS in the PACS was one of the major bench mark activities that have to be compiled with H.O and further said that State Level Implementation Comities (SLIC) has selected three PACS in the state ie Aho FCS, Khehokhu village, Aoyimkum MPCS, Aoyimkum village and Nagarjan MPCS, Kuda village, Dimapur, as pilot project for implementation of ‘Dry Run’ of software.
A.M Yadav, DGM, NABARD, RO, Nagaland, assured after completion of bench mark activities, the bank would take up the matter with the concerned authority for fund for STCCS.  Imtilemba Longkumer, GM (Cr), proposed the vote of thanks.
