Two main accused, wanted in connection with ‘Jeevan Suraksha (JS) scam, were arrested by Assam CID sleuths Wednesday morning from North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal.
The duo, who duped thousands of people of crores of rupees, have been evading arrest since October 19, 2012.
The two accused, husband and wife, have been identified as the managing director of JS Group of Companies, Chandan Das and director Sangeeta Das.
They were apprehended by CID sleuths assisted by officials of Society for Jeevan Suraksha Welfare Association, Assam.
It may be mentioned that the ‘Jeevan Suraksha Group of Companies’ with registered offices in Assam, had attracted lakhs of depositors who were promised high returns on investments.
