One day training on Azolla production techniques and vermicomposting was imparted to farmers of Lumami village on August 22 by Sentimenla, SMS (Soil Science) of NU: KVK, Zunheboto.
Azolla, a small floating fern can be use as a feed substitute for livestock, bio-fertilizer and as a biological means of mosquito control.
Vermicompost produced from the KVK farm was also distributed to farmers for popularization, which could also be a good source of additional income besides farming.
