Tuensang District Private Drivers’ Union (TDPDU) organized a programme on road safety awareness cum flag-day on September 17 at Town Hall, Tuensang.
The two speakers, DTO (transport), Tuensang, Sanglee, and MVI (transport) Bendangyanger, spoke on awareness of road safety through power-point and paper presentations as per ‘Motor Act and Road Safety’ Act.
Both the speakers advised drivers to perform their duties sincerely for the welfare of the public in general. They also dwelled on the MV Act with regard to Do’s and Don’ts.
Meanwhile, Sanglee announced that a cash of Rs.5000 would be awarded to the ‘Best driver 2014’ during the next flag-day programme.
Should there be any accident cases, Bendangyanger informed drivers to lodge an FIR immediately and admit the victim to the nearest hospital.
