ENWO acknowledges ‘Vitamin Angels’

Eastern Nagaland Women Organization (ENWO) has lauded the U.S.-based NGO, ‘Vitamin Angles’, which has been working along with the ENWO for the last three years supporting and distributing Vitamin A and Albindozol for children under five years and multi vitamin for mothers.

In a press release, ENWO president Theanglih Yanlem and general secretary T. Throngpila Sangtam said the president and the founder of the ‘Vitamin Angles’ Howard Schiffer and eight others along with Vitamin Angels’ In-Country Director for India Dr. Shilpa V. Bhatte, coordinator ENWO Ayong Laktank Chang visited Eastern Nagaland from September 21 to October 4 for documentations, distribution of Vitamins and to see the impact of the project.

The signatories stated that the visit has encouraged ENWO and enhanced ownership by the primary stakeholders, which also gave hope to the people especially for the mothers and children living in border areas.

They added that ENWO along with ‘Vitamin Angels’ would continue to work together for the betterment and health of the children and mothers of Eastern Nagaland.

Meanwhile, ENWO Kohima unit during its 3rd general session held on September 28 has elected its new team of office bearers for the term 2013-2016.

New team would be led by Mongsen Chang as president, Throngpila Sangtam as general secretary, Nginlih Konyak as finance secretary and Mongshai Khiamniungan as treasurer.

ENWOKU has acknowledged the outgoing office bearers and executive members of 2010-2013 for the contribution.
