NTC’s first session held in Dimapur

Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) after the introductory and interaction session after its first team of office bearers took offices, at the conference hall of BookMarc Dimapur, reaffirmed the pledge to protect land and resources and to reiterate its representation submitted to the government of Nagaland against recognition of Rongmei tribe as one of the scheduled tribes of Nagaland.

A joint communiqué issued by NTC vice president Lendinokdang, general secretary Nribemo Ngullie and secretary I&P Theja Therieh said the meeting which deliberated on various pertinent and ongoing issues, also resolved to extend solidarity and support to ACAUT in the latter’s endeavour to fight against unabated taxation in Nagaland.

Earlier, in his introductory speech, NTC president Thepfulhouvi Solo welcomed all members and expressed appreciation to the august house for their positive response to the call of NTC.

Solo expressed confidence that NTC will be able to deliver genuine services to the citizens of Nagaland with the cooperation of all. The meeting was attended by all members from the constituent tribes.

NTC which was formally launched on October 12 in Kohima, was banned by the NSCN (I-M) on October 8 for its  (NTC) “deliberate negation of the principle of the Naga Hoho and aspirations of the Nagas.”
