
Baptist world Alliance (BWA) president Rev. Dr. John Upton encouraged the Naga Christians to continue with the engagement of God’s works in the coming days too.
Addressing the gathering at the reception programme for President BWA and moderator CCT, organized by Nagaland Baptist Church council (NBCC) at NBCC convention centre here Monday, Dr. Upton expressed his joy in fellowship with Baptist members of Nagaland and challenged to serve Him more with sacrifice.
He informed that BWA has 100 million members, 41 million Baptized members with 215 Baptist union/convention in 114 countries.
Dr. Upton also expressed gratitude to people of Nagaland for extending assistance to Japan during the Tsunami which was an exemplary for the Christian.
Moderator church of Christ in Thailand (CCT) Rev. Dr. Boonratna Boayen, in his address, said Christians in Thailand are not even 1% out of 65 million populations and urged NBCC to assist in preaching the gospel in Thailand. He urged the people of Nagaland to keep prayer for the people in Thailand.
Asia Pacific Baptist Federation (APBF) general secretary Rev. Bonny Resuh, in his greeting, said “we Christians (Nagas) are saved not to be in the comfortable place but should go out and reach to the unreached places.”
He said God blessed Nagas to bless others and urged to work together in partnership with others for His kingdom. Resuh said Nagas should not only target to send missionaries but also must set exemplary as a Christian state here at home.
Programme was led by Rev. Dr. Phesao president KBPF, invocation prayer by Rev. C. Lima Sangtam president NBCC, introduction & acknowledgement by Rev. Dr. Anjo Keikung general secretary NBCC, special songs were presented by Chakhesang BC MH, Peraciezie BC, Sangtam BC, Union BC while invocation prayer was proposed by Rev. Asangba LKR pastor Ao BC.
Hundreds of Church leaders from different Baptist churches of Kohima attended the reception programme.
