KMC issues revised rates of commodities

Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has revised the local market rates of commodities  with its jurisdiction.  In an order, KMC chief executive officer (CEO) Elizabeth Ngully stated that all shops within KMC jurisdiction are to maintain a display chart of rates for information of the consumers. These rates are subject to revision as and when necessary, said CEO. The KMC has also stated that traders may sell below the rates fixed but shall not sell above the prescribed rates and cautioned that defaulters shall be penalized. CEO said the rates (see table) shall be enforced with immediate effect till further order.
KMC CEO has also informed the traders for strict compliance of the following:
1) No objection certificate to be obtained from the local authority; 2) all employees should obtain medical fitness certificate from concern department; 3) all shops should hang their weighing balance at least half feet above their tables or use electronic weighing balance; (point 4, 5 and 6 are for all kind of butcher stalls/shops) 4) every stall/shop should pay a sum of Rs.5000 as security deposit; 5) all tables are to be covered with vinyl carpet and 6) shops should have their walls paneled such that blood stains could be easily cleansed.
