April 15, 2014 | by admin

Joining rest of the Christians around the world, St. Francis Xavier’s Church Kidima observed Palm Sunday, a religious memorial celebration of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem some 2000 years ago, with Rev. Father Thomas Muttathil, Parish Priest as main celebrant April 13. Rev. Thomas Muttathil explained that Palm Sunday meant to accept appreciation and praise from the people of God on the day. He further stressed on the significance of Palm Sunday and said it was a day of sadness and happiness where God listens to his peoples’ prayer.
The Parish Priest appealed to faithful people to ask pardon for their failures and mistakes and pray to Mother Mary to give the grace understanding.  Rev. Thomas said Holy Week begins from Palm Sunday, which was important to retrospect oneself. Sprinkling of holy water to the faithful people, enchanting hymns, procession with palm leave and Eucharist celebration were the highlights of the programmme.
