More organizations have extended support to the Nagaland Sarva Shikshar Abhiyan Teachers Association (NSSATA) ongoing agitation.
Expressing solidarity with the Nagaland Sarva Shikshar Abhiyan Teachers Association (NSSATA), Dimapur Sumi Students Union (DSSU) visited the agitating SSA teachers at DEO office, Half-Nagarjan, Dimapur.
In a statement, DSSU president Hutoshe Kits and joint secretary Steve Chophy has slammed the state government for being “arrogant and irresponsible” in connection with the issue.
DSSU stated that it would not allow any force, institution and organization to jeopardize the future of the students by not fulfilling the demands of the teachers.
Pointing out that it was the students who have been made to bear the brunt of the issue and their future being sacrificed at the altar of corruption, DSSU urged the responsible authorities to take corrective measures at the earliest before it gets out of hand for the interest of the students.
DSSU also expressed resentment with the government for the injustice being meted out to the teachers.
While backing their genuine demands, DSSU appealed all student organisations and guardians of the students to come forward and support the demands of the teachers as the careers of the students were held at stake.
DLSU: Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union (DLSU) has extended its support and cooperation to the ongoing NSSATA agitation.
In a press release, DLSU general secretary said Yanthanthung Yanthan appealed the government not to remain as a silent spectator but to shoulder the core responsibilities of the grievances faced by the teachers.
DLSU reminded that teachers are the backbone of the students and students of the nation.
AST Kiphire unit: Akhehda Sangtamlarü Thsingmujang (AST) Kiphire unit has extended its support to the agitation launched by the NSSATA.
In a press release, AST Kiphire unit president Chubala Lipi and general secretary B. Selila Sangtam appealed the concern authority to look into the genuine demands of the NSSATA.
“The Teachers suffering today directly hampers the academic careers of the students by putting their careers at stake”, it said urging the state government to release the pending salaries at the earliest.
