Nagaland State BJP unit, a pre-poll alliance partner of NPF-led DAN, has made it clear that it would support NPF consensus candidate for the post of chief minister if Neiphiu Rio was elected to the Lok Sabha.
In a press release, state BJP general secretary and spokesman K. James Vizo also clarified that press statements issued by some vested party workers on who would be the next chief minister were their “own personal opinions.” James said that state BJP president Dr. M. Chuba Ao has reminded that that unless authorized, all official press releases related to state affairs, policies and programmes of the party would released by party spokesman and media convener as per the party decision only. BJP state unit has directed its member to refrain from directly going to the media using the party’s name and voicing their individual opinions on the issue.
