3 villages recognized under Kiphire district

Three newly government recognized villages in Kiphire district namely Tsuthu and Lihtsaoung was inaugurated on May 7 and Vongva on May 8. The three villages are among ten newly government recognized village in the district.
 Parliamentary secretary for excise, legal metrology and consumer protection, economic and statistics, T Torechu in the inaugural programme emphasized on quality education, good moral principle based on Christian faith and fostering unity among different sections for all round development.
Torechu encouraged the villagers to bring about changes not by words but by deeds and asked them to make judicious use of the development funds allotted by the government. 
Stating that villages in the pre- Christian era were established by offering prayer to inanimate objects, Torechu expressed confidence that the newly established villages, which were established by offering prayers to the living God, would outshine the parent villages in all aspects. 
He has further advised them to have mutual relationship their parent village as well as with other neighbouring villages for peace to prevail in the society. Torechu urged the villagers to be self-reliant by making optimum use of the gifted talents stating that “others will not come to help you, you have to help yourself to make a better society”.                                                                               Further, he urged the public to train their children in the right direction to enable them to become responsible citizens in the society.
Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, Neposo Theluo advised the public to initiate process for formation of village council and village development board. He cautioned against squabbling among the village functionaries and also recommended the newly recognized villages for “vision cell” to help in planning for future development. Theluo also appealed the villagers to conserve natural resources for future generation and to inculcate the value of dignity of labour to attain economic stability.
Additional deputy commissioner Pungro, Tainu highlighted on recent government guidelines and cautioned against misuse of power vested on the village functionaries but to implement in the right manner for further development of the village.
