USSC conducts surprise checks on Kiphire offices

United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC), the apex students’ organization of the Sangtam Tuesday conducted surprise inspections in all the government offices in Kiphire headquarters.
To its utter surprise, four offices – District Soil Conservation Office; District Public Relations Office; Assistant Labour Commissioner’s Office and  District Magistrate Office were found locked during the early office timing on Tuesday.
Talking to this Correspondent, USSC executive secretary Justin Khatomong T said that the public and USSC were giving its utmost cooperation to the officers posted in Sangtam jurisdiction. However, many officers were not attending office at their places of postings, he said. Justin pointed out that due to the absence of the officers and their non-functioning offices in the district headquarters, public were facing untold hardships.
He said that Tuesday’s surprise checking was the 1st phase of decision to check functioning of offices.
The executive secretary also directed absentee and irregular officers and staff to be in their respective postings immediately within USSC’s jurisdiction in Kiphire district and Longkhim/Chare Area.
USSC warned of actions against those “irregular” officers and staff and informed all its federating units to initiate similar checking in their respective jurisdiction.
USSC stated that many offices in Kiphire district were stationed in leased houses which made it inconvenient for the officers to run the officers properly.
The student body appealed the state government to allocate the fund for the construction of office buildings.
