Workshop on measles surveillance in Kiphire

Measles surveillance workshop was held on May 20 held at Kiphire IDSP hall, CMO office along with SMO (WHO) Kohima Dr. Shiela Longkumer and DPO (RCH/UIP) Dr. Rebecca Y. Sema as resource persons.
According to a press release, the objectives of the workshop were to train medical officers and health workers to learn about measles epidemiology and measles vaccine, strategies to control measles, principles and analysis of measles surveillance data.
The workshop aims to let health workers acquire technical skills to investigate measles outbreaks and train block and Primary Health Centre level functionaries in measles outbreak investigation.
Altogether, medical officers, district and block programme manager from various blocks under Kiphire district attended the workshop.
