East Dimapur Sumi Students Union (EDSSU) held its first felicitation programme at Sumi Baptist Church, Purana Bazar Sunday with Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Ilika Zhimomi as the speaker.
Speaking on the occasion, Zhimomi said clearing HSLC and HSSLC was the first step to achieve set goals and called upon the students to achieve their goals. She said this was the right time to decide for the future to avoid losing in future. Zhimomi said in order to be a successful person, one needed to be humble, determined, hard working, motivated besides trusting oneself and reposing faith in God. She also encouraged the students to stand firm with their dreams/aims and work hard to convert their dreams into reality.
Associate Pastor SBCPB N.Suhuto Chishi who also spoke on the occasion said life was like a race to be won and it needed preparation. He said if the students wanted to be successful in life they should not compromise with their convictions.
The pastor pointed out that youth often fall for temptations like drugs and bad habits. To overcome these and be successful persons, he encouraged the youth to maintain integrity of life, uncompromised conviction and trust in God.
Earlier the programme was chaired by Kananto Awomi, Bonikali Awomi delivered speech on behalf of HSLC and HSSLC students, Lino Yeptho presented a special number Tokheli Aye read out verses from the bible and Senior Pastor NCRC, Rev. Dr. Shiwoto Assumi prayed for the successful HSLC and HSSLC students.
