Civil case praying for restraining Neiphiu Rio (defendant) from using the name of Naga People’s Front (NPF), its symbol and flags and also against the opening of any office by using the name of the NPF party, has been withdrawn.
NPF through its press and information cell said that the plaintiff L. Yanglong had withdrawn the said case in the court of the civil judge (senior) Mon division on August 21, 2017.
Following the withdrawal of the case, press and information cell said the counsel for petitioner (L. Yanglong) also prayed to the High Court and accordingly the petition has been dismissed on withdrawal on August 22, 2017.
Press and information cell maintained that “this constant and endless dismissal, disposal and withdrawal” from the Apex Court of the country to the district court “explicitly exposes the miserable legal picture of Dr. Shürho and his handpicked small coteries.”
It has therefore urged the “helpless minority group” to read the writings on the wall and retreat gracefully and honourably.
