Troops of 29 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 6 Sect AR during routine mobile vehicle check post area Nagaland gate apprehended one person arms and ammunition on June 6.
According to AR sources, on searching his vehicle,.22 pistol with magazine and assorted ammunitions was recovered.
The arrested person has been identified as Hokiye Sema (47), AR source added. The arrested person along with the recovered items was handed over to West Police Station, Dimapur.
In an another incident, based on specific information, troops of 37 Assam Rifles launched an operation in Chumukedima and apprehended one illegal tax collector along with nine extortion slips and incriminating documents related to NSCN (IM) on June 6.
During preliminary investigation, the individual revealed his name as Jungshi Ao (37), “Rajapeyu of NSCN (IM)”, AR source said. The arrested person along with recovered items was handed over to Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur
