Seven (7) contestants have been shortlisted for the maiden Sumi Singing Star season-1 (SSS-1) Grand Finale after an exciting Semi Final show/concert held at the Town Hall Zunheboto June 6.
Ilokali Zhimo (1), Vilivi K Awomi (14), Lino K Awomi (18) and Boloto H Achumi (16) who bagged the highest public votes were the fours singers selected through the voting cards.
Akashe Sumi and Unice G Sumi were selected on the merits of performances starting from Round-1 till date by the Judges’ discretion while Mughavi K Aye was given a chance to perform in the finale on the merit audience request/poll present.
It may be noted that the two Judges of SSS-1 were entitled to choose one favorite candidate each to compete in the Grand Finale and four others from the voting system (highest number of votes), however one contestant was given a chance as per the audience choice/nomination.
The show was hosted by Alokali Merry Sumi and Er Hukato Shohe general secretary Sumi Kukami/GBs Hoho (SKH) graced the evening as the special guest and exhorted the gathering.
The Grand Finale will be commemorated by two-week long promotional tour/road show to different towns across the district.
The Grand Finale has been scheduled on July 8, Tulini fest evening at the Town Hall Zunheboto.
The SSS-I winner will receive cash prize along with one year free music course at the Immanuel Music Academy Zunheboto. All finalists will be offered a free promotional recording contract from the Pheto Music Association Dimapur.
The Sumi Singing Star Season-1, 2014 is organised by Immanuel Music Academy Zunheboto with the School of Music and Art, Purana Bazaar Dimapur as co organizer; the Pheto Music Association Dimapur and the “Push Energy Drinks” as the co-sponsors.
