Night curfew imposed

Night curfew from dusk to dawn (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.) has been imposed in the 5km belt of Assam side bordering Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland in order to check movement of anti-social elements. According to a DIPR report, addl. district magistrate of Sivasagar DM Morang the curfew order was issued as there were sufficient grounds for taking precautionary measures for prevention of untoward incidents in the interest of maintaining peace in Sivasagar district. Security personnel and officials on duty have been exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order. The order would remain in force for a period of 60 days with immediate effect.
