Stating that cultivation of cabbage have started in Razeba range, Razeba Sub-Marketing Committee (RSMC) has appealed to Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) or any groups to take minimal toll tax so as to encourage and help the farmers.
In a press release, RSMC chairman Sanyi Dukru stated that earlier the farmers had to pay Rs 300 to Rs 500 per trip of cabbage as toll tax to various groups, which according to him was “too high” for them.
RSMC also stated that same tax fee should not be applied for cabbage and other goods as the value of cabbage was very low as compared with other goods. Therefore, RSMC has sought KMC, DMC and other groups or organizations to cooperate with the farmers.
