SAMETI organises training for ATMA functionaries

State Agricultural Management Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Medziphema, has organized a training on mainstreaming gender and women empowerment from June 25 to 27, at SAMETI training hall, Medziphema.
IETC lecturer Dr Watila Jamir; SASRD associate professor Dr. J Longkumer, SMS Agronomy KVK Ch. Roben Singh; SMS (Soil Sciences) KVK Z James Kikon; and Plant pathology KVK Tasvina R Borah were the resource persons.
About 22 Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) functionaries such as DPDs, SMSs and BTMs from all over districts have attended the training. They were imparted technical knowhow on gender sensitization, gender perspective in agriculture and empowering women, role of women in agriculture drudgery reduction technologies for women, mobilization of women resources, entrepreneurship development among rural women, extension intervention and techniques for gender sensitization and strategies for streaming gender concern, SHG- An approach for eliminating poverty through women empowerment.
The training concluded with a valedictory function where certificates were given away by Director SAMETI and Principal IETC, Medziphema, Nguzonyi Wetsah.
