Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) informed that coordination meeting of July 1 has reaffirmed to control unhygienic indiscriminate disposal of all kinds of wastes into the drainage systems by adopting the various directives in the interest of general welfare.
According to a DIPR report, the co-ordination meeting of MMC, Ward Chairman from all wards and officers from PWD R&B, PHED and NH was held July 1 at MMC Conference Hall.
The meeting resolved that disposal of any types of waste materials into the drainage system is not allowed; store of building materials on the road side is not allowed; Parking of off-road vehicles or repair of vehicles on the road side is not allowed; Dog owners should keep their dogs impounded within their respective compound; Dumping soil/dad animals/human waste into the dust bins are not allowed; Vehicle should not be parked near dust bin blocking the movement of waste disposal vehicles for emptying the waste boxes.
Additional deputy commissioner (ADC) and administrator of Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), Chubawati Chang has stated that this notification comes into force with immediate effect for compliance of all concern under Mokokchung Municipal area. Appropriate actions shall be taken against the defaulters.
