C.L. John inaugurates Pangti village circular road

Minister for rural development, C.L. John inaugurated Pangti village circular road as the chief guest July 18. The blacktopping of the village circular road covers a distance of 3.74 km constructed under MGNREGA 2013-14.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest said that it was a great achievement of the village for taking up such a huge project by completing the construction of blacktopping of the village circular road.
He said this showed the commitment of the village functionaries to take the community forward. John further encouraged them to continue with the good work.
“Economic progress and development will come to a balance if we have good road connectivity,” he said, adding that to achieve this, the government was putting more emphasis for the improvement of the roads in the state. He said construction of foothill road was one such project taken up by the government.
Minister also appealed to the village functionaries to implement the programmes according to the guideline laid down by the government.
Delivering the keynote address, DRDA Wokha project director said many achievements and transformations have been made in the rural areas throughout the State under government flagship programmes. He appealed to the gathering to extend cooperation to the department for successful implementation of schemes and policies of the government.
Short speeches were also delivered by SDO (C) Sanis, former dy. speaker of NLA Ralanthung Yanthan and secretary NPF Central Office, Ekyimo Kikon. The function was chaired by Phyosao Jami, dedication of inaugural stone was offered by Associate Pastor Pangti Baptist Church while vote of thanks was proposed by Er. Senkathung Jami.
