Apropos new item “Kohima police arrests 6 persons”, published July 24, the Naga National Council (Non- accordist) has clarified that one of the accused identified as “lieut.” Vito Achumi (27) was not a member of NCC (non- accordist).
In a press release, NNC (N-A) deputy kilonser , chaplee affairs (Angami region) V. Angmai stated that the accused has tarnished the good image of the NNC (NA), adding that the “government viewed it seriously.”
NNC (N-A) deputy Kilonser stated that action would be taken against him as per the existing law.
Further, NNC (N-A) warned that unauthorized person who poses as NNC (NA) and serving fake demand notes/work permit to public would “face prosecution.”
NNC (N-A) also informed the public that to ascertain the genuineness of person they could “take their photographs” and give information to 9402856397 when such demand notes were received.
