Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has reiterated that the issue of liquor prohibition was too important a responsibility which cannot be treated lightly as the issue on whether or not, to lift liquor prohibition touch deepest emotions.
Stating this in an article titled ‘Liquor Prohibition Act And The Society’; NBCC has also said the church viewed that long term consequences must not be set aside because of immediate pressures whatever they may be and that prohibition was not the property of the church.
Nagaland Baptist Church Council maintained that majority of Nagas live in villages and so they must not be drawn in the chaotic controversial crisis engulfing those dwelling in towns.
It said in villages the alcohol issue was being handled in a vastly different one from that which was churning and raging away from villages.
