Refresher training for BLOs in Mon district

Refresher training for the booth level officers (BLOs) of Mon district was conducted at council hall, Mon town.
Speaking at the training programme, the deputy commissioner (DC) Mon, Angau I Thou congratulated the booth level officers for the tremendous job and for successful conduct of the Lok Sabha election.
DC Mon pointed out that there were 17,324 bogus, duplicate and double entry in the electoral roll of the district and more than 1300 corrections have been done.
She urged upon the BLOs, who were the few selected government servants, deputed under the election commission of India, to retrospect and see who was responsible for such errors.
DC reminded BLOs that they, as caretakers and custodians of the electoral roll, should be sincere in their duty. DC also asked them to maintain accuracy and avoid bogus, duplicate and double entry and at the same time accept all genuine voters, who have reached the age of 18.
Prior to the training, a short programme was organized during which assistant election officer (AEO) Mon, Aketo Shohe delivered the welcome speech. The DC was accompanied by sub-divisional officer SDO (civil) Mon, Keyirangding Hegui.
